Instructions
Creating Cheesy Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes can be simple if you follow these clear steps:
For the Meatloaf:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Prepare a baking dish by greasing it lightly or lining it with parchment paper.
3. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, shredded cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning (if using). Mix until well combined.
4. Shape the mixture into a loaf form and place it in the prepared baking dish.
5. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
6. Remove from oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
For the Mashed Potatoes:
1. While the meatloaf is baking, place the cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover them with water.
2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
3. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
4. Add the butter and milk (or cream) to the potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy.
5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well.
