  • 1 lb fresh strawberries with stems

  • 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped or chocolate chips

  • Optional toppings: crushed nuts, shredded coconut, sprinkles, sea salt


Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare strawberries: Rinse strawberries gently and pat dry thoroughly with paper towels. Make sure they are completely dry to ensure chocolate sticks well.

2️⃣ Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, heat chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each, until smooth and fully melted. Alternatively, melt chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water (double boiler method).

3️⃣ Dip the strawberries: Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip into the melted chocolate, swirling to coat about 3/4 of the berry. Let excess chocolate drip off.

4️⃣ Add toppings (optional): Immediately sprinkle with crushed nuts, coconut, or sprinkles if desired before the chocolate sets.

5️⃣ Set the chocolate: Place dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until chocolate is firm.

 

6️⃣ Serve: Arrange on a platter and serve chilled.

Notes

  • Use fresh, ripe strawberries for best flavor and texture.

  • Avoid washing strawberries too early; dry just before dipping.

  • For white chocolate coating, follow the same melting and dipping process using white chocolate chips.

  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days for best freshness.
