Description

This Crispy Honey Chicken features crunchy, golden chicken bites tossed in a sweet, sticky honey glaze with a hint of garlic and soy. It’s takeout-style comfort food made right at home—crispy, saucy, and totally addictive!

Ingredients

For the chicken:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces

  • ½ cup cornstarch

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Oil, for frying

For the honey sauce:

  • ⅓ cup honey

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tsp water (for slurry)

Instructions

1️⃣ Prep chicken: Season chicken with salt and pepper. Dip each piece into beaten eggs, then coat in cornstarch.

2️⃣ Fry until crispy: Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Fry chicken pieces in batches until golden and crispy, about 4–5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

3️⃣ Make the sauce: In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, and garlic. Bring to a simmer. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook for 1–2 minutes until thickened.

4️⃣ Toss and coat: Add crispy chicken to the pan or a bowl. Pour sauce over and toss to coat evenly.

5️⃣ Serve: Top with sesame seeds and green onions if desired. Serve over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, bake or air-fry the chicken before tossing in sauce.

  • Add steamed broccoli or bell peppers for a veggie boost.

  • Sauce can be doubled if you like extra to drizzle over rice.
