Description

This Marinated Tomato and Burrata Salad is a vibrant blend of sweet, juicy tomatoes, creamy burrata, and a tangy balsamic glaze. Simple, fresh, and bursting with flavor—it’s the perfect summer starter or side.

Ingredients

Scale

For the salad:

  • 2 cups cherry or heirloom tomatoes, halved

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp red wine vinegar or lemon juice

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 12 balls of burrata cheese

  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

For the balsamic glaze:

  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar

  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)

Instructions

1️⃣ Marinate the tomatoes: In a bowl, toss halved tomatoes with olive oil, vinegar or lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper. Let marinate at room temperature for 20–30 minutes.

2️⃣ Make the glaze: In a small saucepan, simmer balsamic vinegar and honey (if using) over medium heat until reduced by half and thickened, about 8–10 minutes. Let cool slightly.

3️⃣ Assemble the salad: Spread marinated tomatoes on a serving platter. Tear the burrata and place on top. Drizzle with balsamic glaze.

4️⃣ Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with fresh basil and a pinch of sea salt. Serve immediately with crusty bread or as a side dish.

Notes

  • Use a variety of colorful tomatoes for visual appeal.

  • Great alongside grilled meats or as a stand-alone appetizer.

  • For a shortcut, use store-bought balsamic glaze.
